A Little Progress

Wow!  Has it been a busy week.  We painted, had furniture delivered, managed to get things hung up on the walls, and even do some decorating.  There's still more to do, but here's where we are now:

Dining Room

Master Bedroom

Family Room

Upstairs Bathroom

Laundry Room
I have one more week off.  I think I can finish the rest of the house!

Okay, so I kid.  A girl can dream, right?  Those are pictures of a model I visited  this week.  Here are some pictures of where my house currently stands.

My Dining Room
You can see we're not making much progress in this room.

The Real Master Bedroom
Pretty blah.  This was my husband's furniture before we got married.  Unforunately this room is #4 on our list of rooms to furnish.

My Actual Laundry Room
I doubt this will change much.  We decided that we won't paint this room until we need to get a new washer and dryer.

This isn't exciting, just the upstairs hallway.  It happens to be one of my dog's favorite spots.

Below are the rooms that I've actually done something to.  The powder room and upstairs bathrooms.  They are far from done, but at least they've been spruced up a bit.

I bought the leaf candle holders at a candle party years ago (I hate going to those things!) and finally found a good spot for them.  They match the shower curtain perfectly!

So, that's it for now. I've still got some other pictures to share, but I think this is enough to bore you for one day. My shopping adventures this week haven't been as productive as I'd like. I'm just not finding things I love, and I don't want to by stuff just to buy stuff. I keep telling myself it will all get done in time.

  1. km...I have to say you had me going with the shots of the model home. What you have done so far looks great. Take your it the way you have many many years ahead of you to get it the way you want, decide you don't really like it that way, and get it the way you want it all over again!!!

  2. Girlllllllll...i was like omg she has done so much!!!!!!! You really fooled me!!! LOL and its not even April 1st yet!! I love your bathroom!!

  3. You are so bad! You totally had me going there and I thought to myself "OMG, I've been here a year and my house doesn't even look half as nice as this!!" LOL!

  4. LOL Great trick! Personally, I think the model dining room looks a bit cluttered. Just a bit...

Your house looks great! Take your time! You have years to get it the way you want! =)

  5. LOL, I was totally amazed I was like I want to personally hire you to decorate my house!!!!!! You really had me there. The pictures look awesome and you have a beautiful dog. I wanted to pet him. He sure looks friendly.

Decorating is going to be fun!!!!!!!

  6. Lmao! I was like wow! I couldn't believe how great it looked so fast....I was thinking I could never do that...hilarious!

  7. hahahahaha I really thought to myself "Wow, she's good...that looks like it could be a model!" But I never considered that you were joking :) I like your green leafy bathroom...that looks really nice. We registered for a similar shower curtain for our wedding registry. By the way, I guarantee that you have way more in your house than we have in ours. We have a bed, a dresser, a dining room table, a mudroom bench, and a blowup air mattress that is serving as a couch. Literally, that is it. Don't sweat it! It will all come in time :)

  8. LMAO!!! you really got us, that was so cute. love the bathrooms.

  9. You really fooled me, I was wondering how you got that all done so fast! But your house looks great so far. I loovve the shower curtain, where did you get that?

  10. Oh my God! I was thinking,"This girl is amazing!" haha...thanks for posting model pics though. I always like to see those. And your house will get there eventually. I love the shower curtain! My favorite blog to read is called Young House Love. I have it on my blog roll and it's really entertaining and useful for good decorating ideas to do inexpensively and DIY projects!

  11. HAHA you had me fooled KM! You are doing great with what you have done so far! I can't wait to see what else you have in store...both bathrooms look great!

  12. Well if I had known you were so easily tricked I would have kept it up a bit longer. Maybe tomorrow I could have showed you my finished basement, my remodeled kitchen, and my finished nursery that would only be missing a baby! I'm glad I may have got a laugh or two. They were in the batch of pictures I uploaded, so I thought I'd have some fun. Anything for a laugh.

Finding a shower curtain was harder than I thought. I bought the leaf one at Kohls along with the rug and the leaf picture on the wall. I like it and think it gives me so good color choices for when we paint.

And you're all right, it will take me years to get it the way I want it and then I'll probably be unsatisified and start all over again.

Stephanie, thanks for you comment about my dog. He's adjusted pretty well to the move and although he's friendly he loves to bark at people.
Natalie, I've followed the link to that blog from yours and they do have some good stuff!

    Have a good week everyone!

  13. OMG...I saw the first pictures and thought "she is REALLY putting me to shame"...haha. But you are still way ahead of me. Looks good!
