Good News Day

Lots of good things happened today.  First, we received a letter with our pre-settlement and settlement dates!!!  February 17th and 22nd.  I'm going to try to move the pre-settlement to the 18th so I don't have to take two days off from work.  Just a little over a month.  I CAN'T WAIT!

Then we drove by and saw our brick front is finished:
The garage is boarded up because they poured the floor in there yesterday.

We also went and bought a refrigerator today.  The extra 10% off at Lowes wasn't huge, but we'll take the savings.  Who knew a refrigerator could make me so happy?  I'm getting old.

And finally, the Steelers won!  Couldn't ask for a better day :)

  4. We bought a Samsung french door refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom and an ice maker/water dispenser on the door. I really like it! We got black to go with the other appliances.
India, we just went with the base appliances so we got the fridge ourselves.

  8. great choice on the fridge, we went with the basic appliance package also but upgraded a little to stainless because we already have a stainless french door fridge. I am not to happy with the dishwasher that came with the package. wish I would have not included my dishwasher I have now with the sale of my current home it is so much nicer.

  9. Thanks Tasha. Any dishwasher will be fine with me. I've NEVER had one before.

Welcome B & E. Where are you building in Pittsburgh?

India, the base package only came with a dishwasher and stove and we could add on the microwave. We would have had to upgrade all of the appliances to get the fridge.

  10. KM - (I changed from B and E to RH - still trying to figure all this out) we are building in Baldwin, we looked at Jefferson and Avonworth too, but this location was better for us. How about you?

  11. RH, we also heavily considered Avonworth but ended up in the Cranberry/Mars area. I think I know which plan you're moving into in Jefferson and it looks great. We drove through there looking at different models. We couldn't move that far south because I work in Hampton, but it's a great community. Did I read somewhere that you're building a Savoy? Do you have a blog? I can't get enough of them! :)

  12. Hi KM, we are building a Savoy in Baldwin, we looked at Jefferson, but it was too far from work for both of us! You are in such a nice area - so much land! We have the biggest lot in the plan, but it is small compared to most other developments. I just started a blog yesterday - Home Sweet Ryan Home. I love looking at everyone's pics and reading all about their experiences!

  13. RH - I don't know how I missed that you were building in Baldwin! Most of my family lives in Baldwin and I know of that community as well.
Unfortunately we don't have a whole lot of land in our plan :( That was one thing we had to compromise on. We have a very small yard. On the positive side, there's a lot less yard work!

Looking forward to reading your blog.
