#19

I'm a little sad here in Pittsburgh tonight :(  I can always watch the Steelers win the super bowl next year from the comfort of my new home.  Even in my melancholy mood, I'm still happy about...

#19 - Living in a Neighborhood

Even though I grew up in the city, our neighborhood was awesome!  There were so many kids.  We all went to school together and basically lived outside playing with one another. All the moms and dads would keep tabs on each other's kids.  We had Easter egg hunts, block parties, yearly trips to the pumpkin patch, ice cream trips for good report cards, etc...  Even now, many us are still great friends. We get together for game nights or meet up at a bar.  My neighborhood really was my second family.  In fact I have a wedding picture with me and my Grizella Street family!  While I know that will likely not be duplicated, I am so excited to be living in a neighborhood.  My husband would have preferred not to live in a plan, but it is exactly what I wanted.  I've met a few of my soon-to-be neighbors and am really looking forward to meeting more.  There are lots of kids and it is the type of community I envisioned raising my family in.  Even though this is number 19 in my countdown, it's high up on my list of things I'm excited about.
